In 2021, Doja Cat was one of the most dominant artists of the year. She had a top three single in “Kiss Me More” ft. SZA, which was number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also went on to go 2x platinum.
Kiss Me More also went on to appear on Doja’s third studio album, “Planet Her.” That project was released in June, and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. That included other smash hits such as “Get Into It (Yuh),” “Woman,” “Need To Know,” and “You Right,” ft. The Weeknd.
Doja’s streaming numbers definitely spoke for themselves, as well. According to Chart Data, she had the biggest streaming year for any female rapper in Spotify history. This was after totaling 6.2 billion streams.
Doja is also nominated for eight nominations at the Grammys, this month. The categories that she’s in, include Best Album, Best Song, Best Record, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Doja is tied with the most Grammy nominations this year, with H.E.R., and Justin Bieber.
