Divorced Mom’s Reaction to Taylor Swift Song Goes Viral
Taylor Swift released her latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Friday, and fans have been feeling all the feels.
According to Instagrammer Nicki Marie, the track “The Smallest Man That Ever Lived” should “come with a warning label” after causing an emotional reaction.
In a video shared with her 732,000 followers on Tuesday, Nicki Marie said: “I can only imagine how many divorced moms are just blasting ‘The Smallest Man That Ever Lived.’
“Everyone’s in their whack SUVs just like ‘Oh my God, she sees me, she’s going through the divorce with me.'”
She cut to a clip of her sitting in her truck, listening to the heartbreaking tune about being ghosted by a man you thought loved you.
Nicki Marie mimes along to the lyrics: “And in plain sight you hid, but you are what you did.
“And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive, the smallest man who ever lived.”
“That set me back five f****** years Taylor,” she joked as the record ends, before bursting into tears and shouting “Oh f***.”
Nicki Marie then jumps to “five seconds later,” with the mom-of-two squirting whipped cream directly into her mouth and bingeing potato chips while crying.”
“This one should come with a warning label…” she captioned the funny footage, which has received 208,000 views so far.
Newsweek has reached out to Nicki Marie for comment via email.
Fellow Instagram users found the video relatable, with Heather Lynn commenting: “We are crying with you!”
“You will never have a more universally accurate post,” said Valerie Medlin.
“Taylor Swift gets it,” agreed Katia A. Watters.

Tortured Poets is also the most-streamed pop album ever on Amazon and Apple Music, while its lead single, “Fortnight” with rapper Post Malone, took the record for the most-streamed track in one day on Spotify.
