The Majority Leader and MP for Suame, Honourable Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu says, pragmatic measures have been put in place towards the establishment of Suame District Government Hospital.
The construction, he said, will commence next year, since the land has already been acquired in the Suame Municipality.
According to him, due to scarcity of land at the area, authorities will make it a storey building to undertake all medical needs of the people.
Mr Mensah-Bonsu who is also the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, spelt these out at the weekend when he celebrated the Mother’s Day with his women’s wing at Suame in Kumasi.
As part of the activities, which marked the occasion, both MP and the women’s wing, donated assorted items to the Bremang SDA Hospital after a clean-up exercise at the facility.
The Majority Leader expressed government’s commitment towards education and healthcare delivery.
According to him, the constituents will witness mega improvement in infrastructural development.
He said roads in the constituency have been awarded to Kofi Job Construction Company and about 70 percent of the roads will be asphalted.
The constructor, he said, has Commenced the construction works at Abusuakruwa Electoral area and will move to the other electoral areas.
He noted that the construction works when completed will ease vehicular traffic when government commences the construction of interchange at Suame roundabout next year.
On his part, Dr John Osei Bobie-Boahin, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suame, disclosed the assembly’s readiness to decongest the Suame-Offinso main road.
According to him, the assembly will not wait till calamity to occur before ejecting traders from unauthorised places within the municipality.
“We feel uncomfortable to eject our sisters and mothers from their workplaces but we can’t also wait for a vehicle to run through them before we act,” Dr Bobbie-Boahin said.
The Presiding Member (PM) for Suame Municipal Assembly (SMA), Mr Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, thanked mothers for the role they play in the upbringing of their wards and asked fathers to discharge their responsibilities accordingly.
