Hiplife artiste, D Cryme is urging his colleagues to collaborate to prevent the unnecessary beefs crippling unity among artistes.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz about the need for more collaboration among musicians which he said was a good way to promote young talents.

The Kill Me Shy artiste said there was no need for artistes to compete among themselves but do more collaborations to create a stronger bond.

“There is this perception that when two artistes work together, it creates room for competition but that mindset should not be tolerated.

“I have been in the music industry over a decade now and I can honestly say that working with other artistes has helped me to build strong relationships.

“For instance, the time spent in the studios to record a song creates a good chance to appreciate your colleague and also build friendship.

“With such a foundation, it will be difficult to harbour hatred or dislike because you know them better and accept their style,” he said.

He also pointed out that his support for competition among artistes sometimes was not bad when handled well for commercial purposes and for show business.

“This is what the industry has developed into so we can’t do without it but then again, that publicity strategy should not hinder collective efforts for a vibrant industry.

“It should be handled to rather push for quality rather than quantity which has become the trend now,” he stated.

Known for songs such as Koko Sakora, Kill Me Shy, My Lady and Craze For Baby, the artiste said his new album which features Kuami Eugene, Nero X, Obibini, and Kelvynboy will be released on July 20.
