Chris Pratt got candid about his mental condition before he stumbled upon Katherine Schwarzenegger. Making an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show”, the actor playing Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe confessed he was “broken” when he first met his now-wife.
“There was a moment in my life where I was really struggling and felt really broken,” the 43-year-old began to spill his love story to host Drew Barrymore in the Tuesday, April 4 episode of the show. “For me, my own journey of finding a higher power and leaning on that and feeling like, ‘Please save me,’ and feeling saved.”
“And shortly later meeting the woman of my dreams. It’s all about timing. There’s a perfect plan out there for you. You have to have faith,” the father of three continued explaining why faith played a big part in their relationship. “The minute you have faith, it falls into place.”
Of where and how he met his wife, the “Jurassic World Dominion” actor candidly said, “We met at a church. I was in the front row of church – which is like, you kind of don’t want to be like, ‘Whoa, who’s that?’ at church.”
Confessing that he sneaked some glances at Katherine, Chris further recounted, “But I was sneaking some glances and wondering, ‘Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing? Come on, I’m broken, help me. But who’s that?’ So we hit it off.”
During the interview, the “Avengers: Endgame” actor noted that he and his wife did not go for a date immediately. “We didn’t start dating right away, but we met there and later on, ended up going out,” he stated. “God has a fast-forward button, you know, when it’s right, boom. You get hit, you fall in love, you get married, now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family.”
Chris also likened meeting Katherine, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, to finding a piece of a puzzle. “It was just there. It was like, ‘OK.’ It all made sense. You know when you’re doing a puzzle, and there’s a piece, and you’re like, ‘I’m certain that’s the piece’, and then you jam it, and it looks like it should be the piece [but then] you’re like, ‘Oh it’s that one.’ It just fits together,” he said. “You’re like, ‘Oh, it fits because it was the piece that was made to fit there.’ It felt like that.”
Chris and Katherine started dating in 2018. The couple tied the knot in 2019, and the two have been blessed with two children together, 2-year-old Lyla Maria and 10-month-old Eloise Christina. Chris himself also has 10-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris.
