CAF conspicuously omits defending champions Ghana from 2019 African Games

The Black Queens have been omitted from selected teams to participate in this year’s African Games in Rabat (Morocco).

Ghana, host of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations was left out in a draw conducted in Cairo on Monday.

CAF selected host Morocco as well as seven other participating teams at the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations thus Algeria, Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Mali and Zambia for this year’s competition.

The Black Queens who missed out on a slot for the World Cup after failing to excel at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations recently participated in the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations in Cote d’ Ivoire where they finished 3rd.

Ghana is the defending Champions of the African Games after winning the last edition in Congo Brazzaville.
