Britney Spears’ relationship with her mother is seemingly on the mend. After years of dissension between them stemming from the singer’s hatred toward her family over her conservatorship under her father Jamie Spears, the pop superstar and her mom Lynne Spears have reportedly reunited for the first time.
On Wednesday, May 24, Lynne flew from Louisiana to Los Angeles to visit her daughter. She was spotted arriving at LAX International Airport on Wednesday morning with her luggage in tow. From there, she was driven to the home of Britney’s manager Cade Hudson.
Lynne later took an Uber to Britney’s home in Southern California. The “Lucky” singer reportedly had no idea when exactly Lynne was coming, but she knew her mother was in town to see her. When Lynee arrived, the 41-year-old was receptive enough to let her mother inside her house.
The mother-daughter duo spent around 30 minutes chatting, according to TMZ. Britney’s husband Sam Asghari was reportedly present during the reunion. After Lynne left, Britney and Sam were spotted going out for a drive. The so-called Princess of Pop was behind the wheel of her white Mercedes-Benz before they returned home.
Before Lynne’s brief visit to Britney’s home, the two have reportedly patched things up and begun texting recently. Sources says Lynne is “committed to making it right with her daughter.”
After her 13-year-old conservatorship ended in November 2021, Britney has publicly called out her family, including father Jamie, mother Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn Spears, for the way they allegedly treated her for years. Last fall, the mother of two ripped Lynne after her mom asked her to unblock her on Instagram.
“Mom take your apology and go f**k yourself!!!” she wrote in October 2022. “And to all the doctors for f**king with my mind … I pray you all burn in hell!!! Kiss my mother f**king a**!!!”
