Blame Charterhouse for VGMA brawl not Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale – Ex-Doe
One-time hiplife sensation in Ghana, Ex -Doe, known in real life as Richard Kwasi Siaw Afrofi, has faulted Charterhouse, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), for the pandemonium that happened at the just ended VGMA.
According to him, Charterhouse cannot absolve itself of blame for the circumstances that led to the brawl between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
In an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’, Ex-Doe, speaking on the security arrangements on the night, said, “Clearly security was very poor. How come one artiste pulled a gun on stage? How did he enter the auditorium with a gun? Even if you scanned everyone before entering, the structure they put up for the event had no fire extinguishers. We also don’t know if it had any emergency exists. So imagine there was fire.”
Secondly if you’re organising any show and especially they knew there is rivalry between some artistes within the premises, you have to be proactive with security on the stage. you have to beef up security. The security was very weak,” he added.
He however alluded that Charterhouse must come out and apologize to Ghanaians, and take full responsibility of what happened. He also added that it will be unfair on their side to blame these two Dancehall artistes.
Charterhouse themselves have sanctioned the two artistes who took part in the disturbance. Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were on Thursday stripped of all the awards they won on the night and also banned indefinitely from the event.
