The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah appears to have become unpopular after her infamous statement that the police service had discovered the whereabouts of the three girls kidnapped last year at Takoradi and are closer to bringing them home.
Despite highlighting at a presser that the girls “are safe…very soon they will be brought back home”, there has been no sign of their return.
As pressure mounted on her weeks after parents had still not seen their daughters, Maame Tiwaa in defense said people had misconstrued her statement.
“Sometimes in communicating something, the way you want to get it across, people may not understand it the way you want to say it,” she said.
The CID boss was later reported in a section of the media as saying her remark was to give hope to the families of the kidnapped girls.
It however turned out that she was misreported as she rather meant it gave the police hope of rescuing the girls.
All of these captured in a less-than-five-minute report presented by BK Oduro in a hilarious manner. Although BK weaves his presentation with humour, he slams the CID boss for the ‘unguarded’ remark.
