It’s DJ Maphorisa’s joke that he’s the only musician in South Africa who can feature himself in a song because he has two-stage names. That may no longer be the case, as the muso has got his match in Big Xhosa, the champ who’s just given us the music video for the song “Can’t Fall Off.”
That song features SOS, who is no other than Big Xhosa himself. But that’s by the way.
That song is a testament to self. Embedded in it is Big Xhosa’s faith in his abilities as a musician and in his staying power. It seems just like yesterday since the songster gained national attention by dissing just about every important name in South African hip-hop.
The months have passed and the songster has dropped equally fiery numbers to keep the attention on himself. To his credit, he has managed to remain in the consciousness of music lovers out there.
And with the release of the music video for “Can’t Fall Off,” the “Ninyile” hitmaker continues his creative – and some would say arrogant strides.
This is surely not the best of Big Xhosa, but at least it has got some entertainment value. So you can check it out without qualms. Come on!
