Beyoncé’s “Making The Gift” Special Gave People The Rumi & Sir Content They Yearned For
Giving me life!
On the release day of The Lion King remake in July, Beyoncé surprised fans with a companion album to the film’s soundtrack, titled The Lion King: The Gift. She executive produced the album and enlisted many African artists for guest features. In typical Beyoncé fashion, she dropped something, stunned us and regally disappeared. Aside from a brief, uncharacteristic interview on Good Morning America, not much context was given for this album. On Sunday, Beyoncé got us again by announcing that an ABC special, called Making The Gift, would be airing the following day to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the album’s creation process.

While people were fascinated to learn about the album’s inspiration, they were taken aback by all the footage of Beyoncé & Jay-Z’s rarely-seen twins, Sir and Rumi Carter. The twins are now two years old, but considering that their growth has not been documented for the public (as it needn’t be), viewers were shocked to see them walking and speaking full sentences. Beyoncé brought the whole fam to Africa when working on the project, so the special featured multiple heartwarming moments. Tweeters noted that Rumi possessed some star-power on camera, while Sir seemed more indifferent.
