BEYONCÉ’S FATHER TEASES DESTINY’S CHILD REUNION ALBUM: ‘YOU NEVER KNOW’

Beyoncé‘s father Mathew Knowles has just as much hope for a Destiny’s Child reunion album as the rest of the group’s hardcore fans do.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Monday (May 23), the older Knowles expressed his interest in the three women coming back together for new music for the first time since 2005.

“It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make,” he said. “And I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child. I would love to see that as well.”

He continued: “I think the fans will be just overjoyed, overwhelmed. And hopefully they do one last time in their career. Hopefully they give us one last album. Who knows? You never know. You never say it can’t happen. Because this is entertainment. A lot of things can happen.”

The last time the ladies performed together was at Beyoncé’s headlining Coachella set in 2018, and the last time they put out new music was 2005’s “Cater 2 U” off their first compilation album, #1s. Their last studio album was 2004’s Destiny Fulfilled.

Even if an on-wax reunion were to happen, it would still take some time – as Bey just recently kicked off her Renaissance World Tour in Europe. The trek is reportedly set to bring in over $2billion, which would make it the highest-grossing tour in history.

According to Forbes, Queen Bey’s 10-figure projection could potentially come through two main areas: ticket sales and merchandise.

In terms of gross ticket sales, $751million and $2.4billion are the low and high estimations based on average ticket prices from 52 shows.

With merchandise, $171million is the figure she could generate based off of 300,000 items being sold at an average price of $100. Assuming she keeps 80 percent of merchandise revenue, Beyoncé would earn around $136.8million.

Even if her ticket revenue lands somewhere in the middle of the projections, Mrs. Carter would have the highest-grossing tour of all time — by a wide margin.

That record currently belongs to Elton John, whose Farewell Yellow Brick Road pulled in a staggering $853,000,000 from 293 concerts between 2018 and 2023.

An on-stage Destiny’s Child reunion could happen a lot sooner, however, as Beyoncé has included the aforementioned “Cater 2 U” on the tour’s setlist. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland to make a surprise appearance to perform the cut, but fans will have to wait and see.
