Songstress Mercedes Haizel Cobbinah known in the showbiz arena as Queen Haizel has lashed out at Stonebwoy for saying it will take forty (40) years to replace Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and himself.
The three ‘S-legends’ in the Ghanaian music industry have reigned for years and continue to be the stars emulated and celebrated by many music lovers.
During Stonebwoy’s performances at the recently held 2019 4syte Music Video Awards, he paused and said;“Big up to SM, Shatta Wale my brother and Sarkodie my brother. It will take another 40 years to find me, Sarkodie and Shatta in this industry. We are national assets, if you like don’t protect, if you like protect.”
For several weeks now the pronouncement has sparked debate on social and mainstream media with many berating the head honcho of the BhimNatives for making such statement.
Queen Haizel says the “Top Skanka” hit singer goofed because he isn’t God and cannot predict the future.
“How can you say that, are you God?” she quizzed and continued “You don’t know what tomorrow holds. It is his candid opinion but there’s a reason why he said what he said”.
Still speaking on the ‘Time With The Stars’ show on Browngh TV, she added: “it’s all about the structure of our music industry. There’s a reason why he said that and he has a tangible reason. He’s not God but he’s his point abd you cannot take it away from him”
Queen Haizel in her ending remarks told First Lady, the show host that, “he [Stonebwoy] knows before an unsung artist get support and rise to his level isn’t child’s play”.
