Anti-Amber Heard Research Job Ad Shocks Supporters: ‘Scary’

Apro-Johnny Depp YouTube channel is seeking a researcher to source content that “proves how guilty Amber Heard is.”

A job listing posted on Upwork seeks researchers to gather content for $8 per hour that presents the Aquaman actress in a negative light to appeal to Depp fans.

“Basically, we are looking for content that concerns something that proves how guilty Amber Heard is as our fans are all Johnny Depp Fans, so they prefer videos about new evidence, celebrities, or something else that goes against Amber Heard or supports Johnny Depp,” the job description reads.

The channel is called Just In but appears to have been formerly named Film Streak. It appears to be a content farm and the listing says it is based in Cyprus.

Newsweek has contacted the channel for comment.

Videos on the channel contain titles such as “Amber SEEKS OUT S*x Worker To Help Pay Her Debt To Johnny!” and “New RUMOUR: Amber’s Baby Was Only A PR Stunt To Gain PITY!”

The thumbnails mostly feature heavily edited images of Amber Heard from her delivering her court testimony.

“Johnny has now won in court so it’s just getting more and more difficult to keep up with the momentum but we know our fans are longing for more juice details about this whole topic,” the job description adds.

Despite the listing asking researchers to seek out “new evidence” the listing does not specify that applicants have any legal or other expertise.

Newsweek has contacted Upwork for comment regarding the job listing and to find out if the job spec violates its guidelines.

Heard faced severe scrutiny on social media during the multimillion-dollar defamation trial, which saw a jury award Depp $10 million in compensatory damages, as well as $5 million in punitive damages.

Despite the jury siding with Depp, Heard has continued to face ongoing trolling online with a report in July finding that the actress was subjected to intense trolling during the defamation trial.

“What we observed was one of the worst cases of cyberbullying and cyberstalking by a group of Twitter accounts that we’ve ever seen,” the report states, and noted that 627 accounts were created for the sole purpose to tweet on the defamation trial and about Heard and her supporters.

“The abuse and targeted harassment continued well after the Depp vs. Heard trial ended, and unless Twitter takes action, the abuse and targeted harassment will still continue,” the report states.

The job listing has made it to Reddit where users are labeling the role “scary.”

“Found this advert on Upwork that to me truly shows how the social media machine has continued to support Depp for views regardless of the truth,” the original poster said.

“This is f***** scary,” reads one response to the listing on the site, while another added: “‘Our fans are stuck to one side of the issue and won’t listen to anything that disproves it. Can you come up with anything that can reassure them that they’re right?'”
