That’s nothing painful than to pay for a musical concert with huge expectations but to end up disappointed as in the case of Kenyans as we speak.
Kenyans are peeved at world acclaimed Reggae group, Morgan Heritage for ‘chopping’ their money but delivered a flopped show for them and have consequently started a new wave of clarion call dubbed, #ArrestMorganHeritage on social media to have them arrested.
It’s all about the ‘Tomorrow’s Leaders Festival’ which was staged at the Kasarani Staduim in Kenya. According to a popular Kenya blogger called Xtian Dela who blew the lid on this story, the show did not live up to expectation as artists like Diamond and Yemi Alade even refused to perform because they were not paid.
Ghana’s very own Dancehall artist Stonebwoy was allegedly thrown out of his hotel for non payment of bills which should have been taken care of Morgan Heritage and his crew.
As it stands now, Kenyans are calling for the head of Morgan Heritage and it has started on social media.
Historically, Morgan Heritage is a reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan, namely Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan, and Memmalatel “Mr Mojo” Morgan.
They have toured internationally and released a number of reggae albums. The group’s 2015 album dubbed “Strictly Roots” won the Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category in 2016.
