Heard was found to have unfairly portrayed Depp as an abuser, must pay $10.35 million
Judge Penney Azcarate ruled Friday that Amber Heard must pay Johnny Depp $10.35 million in damages after a Virginia jury found she unfairly portrayed him as an abuser, according to the New York Post.
The Fairfax County judge agreed with jurors that Heard must pay Depp $10.35 million, reduced from $15 million due to caps set by state law.
Judge Azacarate also stated that Heard must pay the entire $10.35 million of the judgement plus $480,000 (6% interest) if she were to file an appeal.
The case will be moved to the Court of Appeals of Virginia after 21 days and both parties will have 30 days to file an appeal notice.
In #JohnnyDepp v. #AmberHeard, judgement entered. Judge Azcarate was no nonsense as usual. No request for an injunction by JD team (I didn't expect that at all). Also, AH will have to post settlement plus 6% interest / year bond to appeal. More soon @LawCrimeNetwork

Amber Heard plans on appealing
Heard’s lawyers have previously claimed that she is unable to pay Depp the $10.35 million in damages because legal fees have left her “broke.”
Despite the claim, a spokesperson for Heard revealed that the 36-year-old “Aquaman” actress does plan on filinf the appeal.
“You don’t ask for a pardon if you are innocent. And, you don’t decline to appeal if you know you are right,” a spokesperson for Heard said in a statement.
Depp is reportedly open to not making Heard pay him and he will not appeal the $2 million that he owes her over his former attorney’s claims that a jury found defamed the actress.
