Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote clocked the age of 62 on Wednesday, April 10, The businessman marked the occasion privately in his office with staff and loved ones.
Although not one that is all about the glitz and glamour of social media, some videos from a private celebration of Dangote have managed to surface online.
In one of the videos, several customized cakes were spotted lined up on a table in the celebrant’s office.
The cakes on display featured creative replications of some of the products that are synonymous to the Dangote group. There were cakes baked in form of cement bags, others taking the form of trailer as well as some others that were baked in the form of sachets of sugar and salt.
Dangote is ranked by Forbes magazine as the 100th-richest person in the world and the richest in Africa, and peaked on the list as the 23rd-richest person in the world in 2014.
He surpassed Saudi-Ethiopian billionaire Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi in 2013 by over $2.6 billion to become the world’s richest person of African descent.
