Greek side AEK Athens have expressed interest in signing Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi from Deportivo Alaves in the summer transfer window, Footballghana.com can exclusively report.
Since joining the El Glorriso from Kazakhstani club Astana, Twumasi has struggled in Spain after featuring in only 13 games in all competitions in the just ended league without finding the back of the net.
According to sources, the 25-year-old is expected to make the move to Greece due to the limited play time in Spain.
Deportivo Alaves paid 750,000 euros to acquire the player from Astana and it is likely he will leave for less.
He is also reported to be out of the plans of new manager Asier Garitino, who was named the coach of the club at the end of the season following the departure of Abelardo Fernandez.
Patrick penned a four year deal with Alaves last summer after five amazing seasons at Astana.
