Members of the Agortime Drivers Welfare Club took to the streets of Agortime-Kpetoe in the Volta Region on Thursday, 20 June 2019 to demonstrate over the club’s locked-up funds with Unity Rural Bank.
The Club says its attempts to withdraw its savings with the bank for the past two years has yielded no results, hence, the decision to demonstrate.
Speaking to Class News on behalf of the group, Mr Daniel Atsu Tekpor said the club will take further action if the bank fails to yield to their demands within 30 days.
Kpetoe branch manager of the Bank, Mr Richard Madugu assured the angry demonstrators that he will ensure that their petition gets the needed attention urgently.
He, however, appealed to those owing the bank to settle their debt for them to also be able to fulfil their financial obligations.
