A$AP Rocky had some fun with Rihanna’s manager Jay Brown after he caught him snoozing in his car while the couple was about to attend a post-Golden Globes dinner.
Paparazzi caught the funny situation going down on Tuesday (January 10) as Flacko and RiRi were making their way inside the Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.
Security told Rocky to come back outside to see the Roc Nation executive sleeping in his car, which had the rapper smiling from ear to ear.
The Harlem, New York native wasted no time walking to the driver’s side of the vehicle and pulling his phone out to record Brown drifting away into his dreams. Rocky eventually got the footage he needed and called off the paparazzi from taking any more clips of Brown sleeping.
“Wait, don’t do him like that,” Rocky said while laughing and tapping on the hood of the car. “Nah, don’t do him like that. Ayo, Jay!”
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were guests at the 2023 Golden Globes, which were held in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night. The Bajan singer was nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for the track “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
“Lift Me Up” ended up losing out to “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian film RRR, but RiRi still turned heads with her lavish black gown designed by Daniel Roseberry.
While Rihanna gets ready to take the stage for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show next month, A$AP Rocky is prepping his own return to the music scene.
Last month, the A$AP Mob frontman revealed the title of his new album while sharing another preview of the long-awaited project.
During 2 Chainz’s Amazon Music Live concert series, Rocky performed a string of unreleased songs such as “Same Problems,” “Rowdy Roddy Piper” and “Mushroom Clouds.”
While he was performing, Pretty Flacko appeared to announce the album title — Don’t Be Dumb — which was projected on stage and referenced throughout the broadcast.
A$AP Rocky also shared details about his forthcoming LP in a recent interview with GQ, promising a heavy Metro Boomin presence.
“I’m gonna put it to you like this: This next album needs to be just called Flacko Boomin, you hear me?” he said. “Most artists wanna make [collabs just because they’re hot]. For us, it’s like, that’s really my n-gga.”
