A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Pays Tribute To PnB Rock, Brings Out Lil Durk At Sold-Out NYC Show

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie paid tribute to PnB Rock at the weekend during a sold out show in his hometown of New York City, with the help of Lil Durk.

On Tuesday (March 7), A Boogie took to Instagram to share some clips from his show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York which took place on Saturday (March 4).

“New York I love yall forever,” he captioned his post.

During the show, the East Coast rapper called on the OTF founder to help him celebrate PnB Rock’s memory. However, before he brought out Durk, A Boogie performed a song he recorded with PnB Rock titled, “Lovin.”

PnB Rock was shot and killed last September while at the Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles. He was 30-years-old.

The isn’t the first time A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie tapped up Lil Durk for some help. The Chicago native features on his latest album, Me Vs. Myself.

The deluxe version of the album includes a posthumous feature from PnB Rock on a track called “Needed That.” It came a few days before what would have been PnB Rock’s 31st birthday.

In other A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie news, the New York rapper was mistaken for Earl Sweatshirt last this week by a contestant on Jeopardy!, and social media had quite the field day with it.

In a recent episode of the game show, “Rappers” was one of the categories, and the $800 question showed an image of Earl Sweatshirt in a hooded sweatshirt with Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik explaining: “He’s seen here actually in a hoodie around the time of Doris, his major label debut album.”

One of the contestants pushed the button to answer the question, and she confidently said the rapper was A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. After a brief pause and laughter from the other contestants, Bialik told the woman “No” and said, “That is Earl Sweatshirt.”

Something similar happened last year when another Jeopardy! contestant confused Public Enemy with Mark Wahlberg’s ’90s collective, The Funky Bunch. Chuck D came to the contestant’s defense and explained some people are really just unaware.

“Everybody don’t know everything… it’s why I introduce myself wherever I go and whoever I talk to,” he wrote on Twitter. “It’s just courtesy. But the sad thing is not knowing those other Chuck Ds.”
