Actor John Dumelo says he has been inspired to create over 5000 jobs to help the teeming youth of the country, many of whom are struggling for jobs, ABC News can report.

The move, according to the actor, is to create a ‘help cycle’ so that those currently being helped can in turn, help others.

In a Twitter post by the actor and seen by ABC News Ghana Friday, John Dumelo said he was ready to give money to followers who were in need.

Mr. Dumelo, hours later tweeted ” Today, I received over 5,000 phone numbers & I sorted some of them out with “noko fio” through mobile money.

The Ghanaian actor has recently been nominated for the ‘Most Promising Actor’ and ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role’ categories at the 6th and 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards respectively.

Mr. Dumelo has been very active on social media.

He’s been in a battle of words with celebrated reggae/dancehall act Samini on Twitter over Parliament’s decision to put up a new $200 million chamber for the house.

The two ‘stars’ battled it out on Twitter, following a tweet by the actor on the proposed plans by the August house.

The actor, in a tweet, pleaded with Parliament to halt their preparations to build the new chamber explaining the $200million could be used to build 10 factories to employ 10,000 Ghanaians.

Samini, who agreed with the tweet, pointed out however that a Landcruiser V8 vehicle retrieved from John Dumelo, allegedly given to him by the former NDC government, could equally have solved problems in his village if the money used to purchase the vehicle was applied properly.
