Selena Gomez is Joining The Food Network
Selena Gomez’s passion for food is expanding beyond her HBO Max cooking show.
The singer and actress has joined foodie haven, the Food Network, as a host for two new shows that will be coming in the near future. The first show is being described as a “celebration-focused series” that will come just in time for the holidays later this year.
The Food Network takes its holiday programming very seriously and often has multiple new specials dedicated to the season. Selena’s show is set to kick off “the nearly 100 hours of new and returning holiday programming” on the network, according to chairman and chief content officer of U.S. networks for parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, Kathleen Finch.
The second culinary show will come in 2024 and requires a bit more travel. That show will follow Selena as she meets with top chefs in the country and cook their most popular dishes alongside them — which sounds like Selena is turning into a pseudo-Guy Fieri.
This isn’t the first time Selena has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery on a food-related project. She also hosted a series on HBO Max called Selena + Chef which came to be during the pandemic and lasted for four seasons.
The show featured Selena learning top chef skills and recipes and featured celebrity chefs including Padma Lakshmi, Roy Choi, and Gordon Ramsay. It’s unclear if that show will continue now that she has a Food Network contract.
We can’t wait to see what Selena is cooking up.
