CEO of 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has revealed that Shatta Wale did not get enough votes from the Board prior to the 3Music Awards which saw him (Shatta Wale) swept most of the awards on the night of the event.

Reacting to controversies surrounding the second edition of the event, which pinpoints on “why Shatta Wale had claimed about eight plaques on the night”, Sadiq has said that, the public helped the artiste with their votes.

According to Sadiq, the academy/board of the awards scheme did not favour the artist as it been speculated by some section of the public but he had had more than enough votes from the mass.

“The public helped Shatta Wale win the awards. Not the Board. He didn’t get enough votes from the Board & Academy”, Sadiq Abdulai Abu said on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty.

“Fanatics of Stonebwoy and Sarknatives among other fanbases after the awards have taken to social media to register their displeasures and disappointment in the 3 Music Awards alleging that, most of the awards Shatta Wale had won on the night was framed and planned just to build their brand around him”.

He noted that some had even alleged that the organisers are fanatics of Shatta Wale and decided to honour their boss with most of the awards on the night.

The CEO of 3Music Awards has, therefore, come out publicly to react to these claims saying, its all baseless and should be disregarded by the mass and the media.

3Music Awards 2019, came off last Saturday, 30th March 2019 at the fantasy Dome – Accra.
