2Pac‘s murder suspect, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, has been hit with an extra charge after getting into a fight with another jail inmate.
Currently housed at Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Keefe reportedly got into a violent scuffle with a fellow inmate, which authorities have described as “mutual combat by grappling and throwing closed fist strikes.”
The fight, which was captured on surveillance footage, was eventually broken up by guards who deployed the use of pepper spray.
Keefe D, 61, was subsequently charged with battery for his role in the melee, though he contends that he was “just standing his ground,” according to TMZ.

Keefe has been in police custody since September 2023 when he was charged with orchestrating the murder of 2Pac, which marked the first arrest in the decades-old case.
He is expected to remain behind bars until his trial begins in May. The former Compton Crip has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder with use of a deadly weapon.
Keefe D recently attempted to get the murder charge dismissed, claiming that he had previously agreed an immunity deal with law enforcement.
The ex-gang leader told detectives in 2008 that he was involved in the killing of 2Pac on the Las Vegas strip shortly after a Mike Tyson fight in September 1996.
His lawyers attempted to argue that he made this admission as part of a proffer agreement, which means anything he said could not be used against him in court, and that this agreement should still stand.
Prosecutors denied that there was any evidence of such an agreement, with the judge ruling in their favor.
After his motion to dismiss the charge was rejected, Keefe D’s lawyer said to the press: “There’s no evidence that he was involved [in ‘Pac’s murder]. He did what Detective [Greg] Kading did: He put out a book, and he made money. Even the state’s main investigation that testified at the grand jury said this is all about making money.”
Keefe wrote about ‘Pac’s murder in his 2019 book Compton Street Legend, though his attorneys later claimed that prosecutors “did not delineate which parts of the book, if any, were written by Duane” as opposed to his co-author.
They also said that the various statements he has made regarding 2Pac’s murder were just for “entertainment purposes.”
