Public Relations Officer for the Namibia Football Association Dan Kamati says his side win against the Black Stars of Ghana will boost the team’s confidence ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Namibia defeated Ghana in a pre-AFCON game on Sunday by a lone goal in Abu Dhabi where both teams are currently based and preparing for the tournament.
“Winning against Ghana is a morale booster for our team ahead of the Afcon tournament because Ghana is a big team when it comes to African football, Kamati told Ashh FM.
Kamati also indicated that the game was a good test for the national team as it has aided the coach in his selection as well as identified the weakness and strengths of his team ahead of the tournament. “It was a good test for our technical team in accessing their team and in selecting their final squad for the Afcon tournament”
“The game against Ghana yesterday has given the Coach and his technical team a fair idea about his team and what they will be expecting in the tournament in Egypt”
“I know it will be a different game should we meet Ghana in the tournament but we will prepare very well to meet Ghana again in the tournament”, he concluded
Namibia are in Group D alongside Morocco, Ivory Coast and South Africa.
